Stay a few Nights in Nusa Penida – If you Can! There are plenty of reasons to visit the Indonesian island of Nusa Penida on just a day trip – but if time allows, you should definitely stay for a few nights rather than just doing a day trip. Here are three reasons why:
4. Snorkel With Manta Rays at Manta Bay. One of the most epic things to do on Nusa Penida island, and an activity that is advertised almost everywhere in Bali, is a snorkel with Manta Rays. Nusa Penida seems to be a Manta Ray hub of sorts. You'll often see them from many of the viewpoints and cliffs around Nusa Penida.

We’ve been to Nusa Penida twice and spend between 2-3 days here. If you have the chance and have a longer stay, we would suggest that you stay in Nusa Penida for at least three days.

A local recently told me that tourists have only been coming to Nusa Penida for 2-3 years, compared to neighbour Nusa Lembongan ‘s 10 years of tourism. I wonder if in a few years Nusa Penida will be tarmacked and built up with resorts. I hope not. Now’s definitely the time to see it and enjoy its local charm!
Diamond beach swimming. Jul 2022 • Couples. Do NOT swim at this beach. Strong current pulls people out and it is almost impossible to get back in. Witnessed 3 people very distressed and one man almost drown. Fun walk down for some beautiful photos (however it isn’t the safest, some loose fencing and you have to climb down using a rope twice).

We're flying into Denpasar from Manila, and heading straight to the harbour for NP. Staying at Hotel Arsa and probably using scooters to get around, maybe do a private tour or two while we're there.
