On the 790 you can't change the date, only the mileage. The date rolls once the current interval is completed and you reset the service mileage interval. Perhaps set the mileage to the lowest (500) and then roll it for 500 miles. The logic may be miles or date, whichever comes first, and at that point the date rolls 12 months ahead.
The claimed 10000 kms drain interval is not up to the mark and hence after the initial running of the bike of 5000 kms on the stock Bajaj oil, it was time to get a change. After loads of research on which is the best oil for my bike, I finally narrowed down to the Motul 7100 Fully Synthetic Oil.Power comes courtesy of the same 799cc double over head cam parallel twin motor first introduced in the KTM 790 Duke in 2018 Service intervals are generous, with an oil change every 9320 miles
Big-bang firing order. A big bang engine is an unconventional engine designed so that some of the power strokes occur simultaneously or in close succession. This is achieved by changing the ignition timing, changing or re-timing the camshaft, and sometimes in combination with a change in crankpin angle. The goal is to change the power delivery ing on the equipment. Service intervals are repeated according to time elapsed or mileage, whichever occurs first. I keep seeing reports of the 790/890 engines still having repeated oil and water leaks, counter shaft seal leaks, gasket leaks, etc. My nearest KTM dealer is quite far away. What have people’s experience been with the 790 & 890’s…especially those who’ve owned the bikes for at least 20,000 miles. The recommended oil change interval for the KTM 790 Duke (2018) is every 7,500 kilometers or 4,660 miles, whichever comes first. Regular oil changes are essential for maintaining optimal engine performance and longevity.

Unfortunately, I was surprised to find that there was a significant amount of metal in my oil. This is the first time I’ve changed the oil in the bike and the second every change (5k miles). I just had a 36,000 mile major service done on my 1190 (same cost as the Superduke) and it was £448 including an MOT. Most main dealers are around £600 for the service alone. If it's a minor service which is basically just an oil and filter change and a check over, it should be about £150 from an independent at most. .
